PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE

The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE indicates continuing action, something going on now.this tense is formed with the helping "to be"verb,in the present tense, plus the present participle of the verb(with an-ing ending). The sentence in the present progressive tense has the following structure : Subject + verb to be + verb ing + complement. Of the same way, the formation of the present participle has rules to continue. Nevertheless i will explain the most important three. Rule one: Verbs that finish in vowel "e".To these verbs, to turn them into present participle, it is eliminated the end "e" of the verb and it is added ing for examples: Write-------Writing Make--------Making Take--------Taking Taste-------Tasting Rule Two Verbs that finish in consonants including "y".To these verbs,it is added at the end "ing" for examples: Watch-------Watching Talk--------Talking Play--------Playing Studying----Studying Rule three One syllable verbs ending in consonant-vowel-consonant.it is turned the final consonant and it is added "ing" to formthe present participle examples: Stop-------Stopping Cut--------Cutting Run--------Running Now we are going to see some examples of present progressive tense: *I am writing a letter *You are playing soccer *She is speaking English *He is reading a book *The dog is running in the house *We are studying french *They are eating in the cafeteria Present Progressive Tense Present Progressive Tense
